FAQs
Do you take insurance?
I am currently in-network with most Blue Cross Blue Shield plans. It will be important for you to contact your specific insurance company to ensure that I am considered “in-network” with them and to learn about your policy’s deductible, co-insurance, and copay amounts.
For those covered by other policies, I will be considered “out-of-network,” which means that my clients pay me a fee and then seek personal reimbursement from their insurance company. To do this, I’ll supply you with an itemized bill (Superbill), which you’ll submit to your insurance company. Many companies offer out-of-network reimbursement, but each policy is different so it’ll be important for you to contact your specific company and learn more about your out-of-network deductibles, co-insurance, copays, and reimbursement rates. There is no guarantee that your company will reimburse you for out-of-network services.
Remember, it’s your responsibility to confirm your coverage with your insurance provider before we begin working together! Any uncovered charges will be the responsibility of the client.
Do you see clients virtually or in-person?
Both! I primarily see clients in a virtual setting, but some in-person spots may be available. If you have a preference, be sure to ask what might be an option for you!
How do I schedule a session?
First, we’ll have a free 15-minute telephone conversation to begin to discern our fit for one another. After that, we’ll work to find you a recurring spot on my calendar. To schedule our phone conversation, just call or email me at (919) 297-8425 or epope@abloominglifecounseling.com.
What’s your cancellation policy?
Things happen! At some point you’ll have to cancel or reschedule your session time with me. I simply ask for 24-hours notice in order to allow me time to offer your opening to other clients who might be looking for an available opening. If you cancel with less than 24-hours notice, or if you simply no-show for your appointment time, you’ll be charged a $100 late cancellation/no-show fee. If for any reason, I am unable to attend our scheduled session together, there will be no charge or expectation of payment of any kind.
What is confidentiality?
As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, I am bound by the ethical guidelines of the American Counseling Association to keep all information you tell me confidential unless you authorize me, in writing, to release your information to specific parties or for specific reasons. As specified by North Carolina law, there are some exceptions to this, which include:
Cases in which the client poses imminent threat to their own safety
Cases in which the client poses imminent threat to the safety of others
Cases in which a minor client, or client’s minor child is suspected of being neglected or abused by a parent, guardian, caregiver, or custodian
Cases in which a disabled or elder adult is suspected of being neglected, abused, and/or exploited by their caretaker
